What’s New in This Version
WordPress AI Generator 2.4.0 is now available on the WordPress plugin marketplace.

This release adds one thing: the Addons system. It’s kept simple for now — you download an addon from the companion website and install it manually, just like a normal WordPress plugin.
There’s one free addon available so far: WordPress AI Translator for Polylang

If you’ve worked with WordPress, you know that translating content into multiple languages (in an SEO-friendly way) is both painful and expensive.
This addon — and the upcoming ones for other major translation plugins — aims to solve exactly that.
Why Not a Full AI Translation Plugin?
There are no plans to build a full-featured AI translation plugin right now.
On one hand, translation plugins have strong lock-in. Once you commit to one, migrating to another is nearly impossible — your translated content essentially has to be redone from scratch. The established plugins have been around for years, and most users with serious translation needs are already on them.
On the other hand, I tried building one a few years ago because I couldn’t find a good, affordable option. So I know firsthand: translation plugins are really complicated. You have to tackle multilingual routing, theme translation, content translation and storage, and taxonomy (terms) translation and storage. Every single one of these is a pain in WordPress.
The old guard — Polylang, WPML — rely on manual translation.
TranslatePress, which has gained popularity recently, supports automatic translation, but whether you use a third-party API or their own translation packages, it’s prohibitively expensive.
So this addon, and the ones that follow, are here to fill that gap.
